Dave Fields

NYC musician Dave Fields has been part of the NYC music scene for decades having worked with Roxy Perry, Frankie Paris and NYC blues great Sweat Georgia Brown. Not just a guitarist, Dave has also been known to tear it up on B3 and piano (but don’t tell anyone Dave plays keys, he doesn’t like it!). A regular at BITTER END and DINOSAUR BAR, Dave recently played MAC ARNOLDS CORN BREAD AND COLLARD Blues Festival in May, THE CRESSKILL BLUES FESTIVAL in July and THE FIRE ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL in AUGUST.

Besides having a thriving production business producing everything from GIOIA BRUNO of EXPOSE to music for THE 2004 OLYMPICS, THE TODAY SHOW and NBC SPORTS, Dave has been an avid performer performing with U2, THE FAMILY STAND, HUBERT SUMLIN, BOBBY RUSH, WILLIE “BIG EYES” SMITH, EDDIE SHAW, THE DRIFTERS and RUBY DEE & OSSIE DAVIS. He has also shared the stage with such notables as ARETHA FRANKIN and RICHIE HAVENS. Dave also produced the winner of BEST SELF PRODUCED BLUES CD of 2006 for producing ROXY PERRY’S “BACK IN BLUESVILLE”. Dave has a new CD entitled TIME’S A WASTIN’. Here’s what people are saying about it: David F Hughes producer/music director LAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI JUKES Dave Fields delivers so much soul, emotion and shear passion with these recordings.

As many times as I’ve heard Dave, he always sounds fresh. He continues to blow me away both live and on record with his virtuosity as a brilliant guitarist and “world class” producer. His singing? Why it’s as smooth as silk and he plays some fine piano and very tasty slide. The writing here is quite crafty, full of fun and games, and yet, a real sneak peek into the heart and the soul of Dave Fields. If you don’t know Mr. Fields yet, you’ll know him for sure after you hear this masterpiece. Man this stuff is timeless, inspired I must say. Imagine if you threw a few mahtzah balls and a stalk of corn into a pot of collard greens? I like to refer to it as “Corn Fed Blues”. Believe me, everything you’re about to hear is all True. If you don’t believe it, just ask his Rabbi! I’ll stop talking and ya’ll start listening ‘cause TIME surely is A WASTIN’.
